I want sugar today!  I dreamed of cookies last night! sugar cookies and no bake chocolate cookies!  I didn't take my snack defense tablets today, and thats most of the problem.  when I take the snack defense tablets, then my cravings are almost non-existent! I will make sure and take them tomorrow.  I really want to get serious about loosing my next 20 pounds, I've been messing around and dragging this thing out!  I went to zumba today (it's a Latin dance style work out)  I go 3 days a week.  A bunch of us do it at our church building while the kids run around and play, it's great and it's free.  I recommend that everyone get a work out group together that's free and kid friendly. Hopefully I wont have to go through this the next holiday because The further I go, the better I get at self control.  I've never been one to be in control of my surrounding or body, and I have learned how important it is in my life.  I have tried so may programs and wonder pills to loose weight, and nothing has worked until now.  It's now not just about my weight, or what size I am, it's about feeling good from the inside out, and being healthy. We did, and we traveled the whole week and ate whatever we wanted!  We actually brought all of our stuff with us, but it was just too hard to diet while we were out of town!  Hopefully someday I can get to to where im always eating right, but I'm not their yet!  As you can see I gained back 2.5 pounds, and I feel like I'm never going to hit that 199 mark!  I've been back on my program for 2 days now, and I didn't have sugar withdraws!  I think that it's because I took the herbalife snack defense tablets.  They really take away the sugar craving!  I haven't had any desire to eat sugar or treats at all, and normally it takes me 4 to 7 days to get fully back on to my program without any cheating.  To motivate myself I love to look at pictures of people exercising, or eating healthy.  I know that sounds dumb, but it really works!  I just look through my herbalife catalog everyday and look at all the products and pictures that represent a healthier happier way of living.  They even offer a whole skin care program that I would love to try!  The good thing is, is that Im not looking at pictures of skinny models or super beautiful people, im looking at pictures that could possibly be ME in a year or so! We will be driving to Tulare tonight, and then leave for Bakersfield on Wednesday and wont be home till Monday, so this may be the last blog for the week. Doug and I worked with Meghan on bike riding, and when she stays focused she can pedal and keep the bike going.  The only problem is that about every 5 seconds she loses focus and stops pedaling!  silly girl.  If you know Doug then you know this is amazing, but he got on a bike today and liked it!  As soon as we get  Meghan up to speed, we will start going on family bike rides.  Dougs shoes had a whole in them, so he got a new pair of running shoes and we jogged a mile tonight.  I need to talk to my sister and get the program she has for preparing for a 5k run.  She said that is starts out super easy, so I think that we can handle it.  Were getting to the point were we prefer to be outside than watching T.V.  I'm not sure what well do when summer hits, but right now I'm just enjoying today!  It's so beautiful here and the weather is perfect. Sometimes I feel like im getting smaller, but other days I feel just as big as ever!  I have a harder time when I feel huge.  I feel like i'll never be small!  I know I'll never be petite, but I could hopefully get down to a size 12?? My professor had graded all the midterms except two of them, one of the two was mine!  he said he didn't grade it because I wasn't in class last week (it's a one day a week class and i was sick)  How much effort would it have been to grade the two tests that belonged to the sick people!  Now I have to wait till next week to get my grade....oh well.  I haven't exercised in the last couple of days and i need to be like Juli and get out there and do it! I just got into a bad funk for two days.  I didnt want to drink my shakes, then i got really hungry and tired.  On the days that I do my program right and not skip shakes everything works out great and I'm not hungry and I have energy and I feel great.  I guess I just got a little bored and was lazy and didnt feel like making my shake.  Anyway today was super easy and I'm pushing forward.  Doug has been so great!  He keeps me on track and is doing great himself!  he has lost 10 pounds!  Even Meghan has thinned out.  She is a big reason why I am doing this.  When my eating habits are out of control, She eats all kind of stuff that's horrible for her!  I want her to be healthy, and not have weight problems of her own. It was hard to stay on track.  I cant say that I did perfect, but I didn't totally mess up either.  I forgot one of my shakes on day, and had a bowl of cereal instead.  last night we had dinner at Mc Donald's, but the fat content was about the same as a lot of our dinners, plus I took a thermobond before we went.  So, I guess I could have made a couple better choices than I did, but just surviving the last two days, and not totally falling of the wagon is an accomplishment. Here's a Shout out to Julie!  Way to go for working out at the gym!  It has to be hard trying to fit it in between family, work, church stuff, ect.  Here's a tip that is actually working for me!  whenever I see fast food commercials, or yummy food I don't want to eat, instead of thinking oh, I want that so bad I think YUCK!  that looks really heavy and gross, and it makes me feel sick.  then whenever I see something healthy I think oh, that looks soooo good!  This is called conditioning, and it really works!  we've done some experiments in my psychology class and it's pretty interesting.  It wont work right away, but keep on doing it! Doug and I are going to join a gym next month.  there's a cheap one around here for 25 bucks a month with free baby sitting!  yeah!  I would really like to strength train.  I didnt do to bad at game night and had a lot of fun.  I brought my camera to take pictures and forgot to!  oh well, I'll try again next time.  I have actually had a problem this week remembering to eat my shakes and snacks.  I just haven't been hungry this week.  I'm not sure if its because of the herbalife supplements I take, my body for the first time is getting everything it needs, so it's not craving anything.  I'm just working on getting to the point where  I love to work out! I'll see if I gain any back tomorrow, because tonight is game night and I can eat whatever i want!  I'm not planning on totally pigging out, but I wont know until the night is over!  I will take my Thermobond before I go and probably put fiber in my drink so I'm fuller and wont eat as much.  I don't think I have ever dieted 2 weeks straight without any cheat days, so this is pretty exciting for me!  Now if I can just get through the next 6 months!  My main goal it to lose 54 more pounds, and then go from there.  I don't know what size I'm supposed to be with my large frame.  When I get down to 150 pounds I will see if I need to lose another 10 or 15 more!  I really think that if most of us could get past the first two weeks, then the rest would be down hill!  I was told once that it takes 28 days to build a new habit, but if you cheated at all throughout the 28 days you would have to start over. Hopefully I dont gain it back tomorrow at game night, but im making a Texas sheet cake and am going to have a piece! I took my shake with me and ate some apple dippers.  I didnt cheat and It felt great!  then I come home to cinnamon rolls straight out of the oven with frosting on them!  I survived mcDonalds to succumb to a cinnamon roll!  so, I didnt have my second shake, and I didnt eat any of my snacks.  I dont think that totally made up for it, but that was the best I could do.  I'm kind of worried tonight because i just ate dinner for the night and it REALLY SUCKED!  When I only get one meal a day, it's really a downer when the food is gross. I love being in relief society and being able to hear the great inspiration taught there.  I love the sisterhood, and the great friends.  I have been in primary FOREVER and for the first time  I get to sit and enjoy relief society every week!  It's vitamins for the soul.  I had an easy day today, so that was nice.  We went to my old friend Chanel's house for dinner with her husband and little son.  we had a good time catching up.  I exercised on the recumbent bike, but would like to throw in some free weight exercises, but I don't know and routines, so I guess I need to do some searching on the internet and find some. I had to stay strong and for one of my snacks I ate a whole can of green beans because I could eat more green beans than anything else for 100 calories.  I know that it's not nearly as good as eating fresh, but we all have to start somewhere.  I learned two great tips today!  Tip #1   If you eat 35 grams of Fiber a day, the fiber will flush out around 300 calories each day!   I knew that fiber was important, but that's a lot of calories!  If you could flush out 300 calories, on top of trying to eat healthier, and daily exercise, we could accomplish a lot!  Tip #2  I know that most of us don't have access to this, but if you sit in a sauna for 30 minutes, you will burn 300 calories, and I believe that if you do this on a regular basis, that it speeds up your metabolism!  I'm going to research this info, and I've been told that you can buy portable saunas for pretty cheap.   &lt;br /&gt;      I looked at my shakes and the supplements that I am taking to add up my fiber.  I think that i will start using benifiber again, so I know for sure how much fiber I'm getting.  Eating 35 grams of fiber is certainly easier than making sure I'm exercising everyday. At tops frozen yogurt on Friday nights your first 4 oz is free, so we all got a yogurt and the grand total was $1.76!  talk about a cheap outing!  I'm expecting now to taper off and not loose quite as quickly, but I have a hard time weighing myself for 2 or 3 mornings in a row and not see the scale go down. At that point I run to the bathroom, try and push out a minuscule amount of pee and weigh myself again!  Super pathetic I know, but im sure some of you out there know what I'm talking about.  I know that if I loose 2 to 3 pounds a week that the scale wont go down everyday, but its hard for me, so for the next 2 weeks I could use A LOT of support!  I am now at my lowest weight in 6 years! I put extra protein powder in my shakes today (thats the great thing about herbalife because you can customize your shake to your personal needs.)  Yesterday I was REALLY hungry, so today I added 1/2 tbs more of the protein powder and I was totally stuffed!  I really love &lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;thermobond&lt;/span&gt; too.  I take 2 thermobond pills 30 minutes before dinner and it is supposed to take out up to 70% of the fat in your meal, plus it also fills you up before you eat your dinner.  Today was super easy, if only every day could be like this!  I will just count my blessings and be thankful for one easy day, hope for more to come, and pray for strength on the days that are hard. I exercised, and went to school. I was great at school, but then when I met up with Doug at school, we got into an argument and I went home MAD, so then I cheated a little bit but not much.  We made up later when he got home from school, and we went out to dinner.  My relationship tip for this week is when you happen to fight with your spouse, (and we all do)  Fight fair. If you Really try to see their side of it some of your anger will melt away (not all)  but usually enough that if you take a little break from each other you can come back and discuss instead of saying something you would regret.  Also, Attack the problem that's making you mad, NEVER ATTACK YOU SPOUSE PERSONALLY!!  Even if you come back and apologize later, the hurtful things you said will never go away. My piano class is a semester ahead of me and I cant switch to the beginning class so I am practicing several hours a day to get through the first book, so i can be prepared for my class.  Hopefully I can hack it and catch up so I don't have to drop it. We had a great time at Julie and Trevor's, and I didn't cheat!  every one had bean dip and chips and ice cram and brownies.  I bought a bowl of melon to eat and it was good.  the kids had a lot of fun playing together and we had fun playing cranium. It was husbands against wives and it was pretty funny.  The boys lost and they had to draw straws to see who had to wear the ugly tie and bracelet to church tomorrow!  Doug got the long stick so he doesn't have to wear anything, but Treavor got the ugly bracelet, and Tim got the tie, that should be pretty funny tomorrow. I woke up to my sister telling us through megs baby monitor that they were making crepes for breakfast!  I LOVE crepes!  I went into the house a few minutes later and there were 3 crepes sitting on a plate!  Carey said, hey I made you crepes!  I grumpily and quickly said no thank you and walked very quickly out of the room.  Just like Joseph in Egypt I ran from temptation!  haha  By noon I felt totally in control and Doug and I played tennis.  I cooked a chicken rotisserie style on the BBQ for dinner and it was great!  we also went to tops yogurt for desert and I had a small nonfat yogurt with fresh strawberries.  when we got home i rode the exercise bike and now I am tired.  That's all for today!  Were going to a friends house tomorrow for game night, so we'll see how I survive the snacks from that!  Doug is not being very supportive, he wants to eat good food and keeps on telling me I look great!  I know it not true, and I feel like I'm on my own.  He does go and play tennis with me so that's great, and I know that he DOES love me the way I am, but I'm not healthy. I didn't have any bad cravings or chocolate attacks.  I used to eat chocolate EVERY night.  I cant even begin to imagine how much money we wasted!  We would go to Savemart almost every night and buy something chocolate! We also ate out at least 4 nights a week and that doesn't include the few times a week we would go out to lunch.  I no longer take naps everyday and My energy level is up.  I have exercised every day and that alone makes me stand a little taller and hold  my head a little higher.  My next step is to find out if the gyms at school are open to all students, or only to those enrolled in P.E. classes.  I'm not taking P.E. this semester, but I will make sure to fit it in next time.  My Motto is "Take on step at a time"  So right now I am concentrating on eating two healthy snacks (each around 150 calories) and my two shakes.  I'm still making dinners I enjoy and not going totally low fat and healthy, but I am cutting out fat by using low or fat free products.  when I get the hang of all of this I will try and step up my game to a lighter fare, and smaller portions at dinner.  I do take a fiber supplement made by herbalife 30 minutes before dinner that is supposed to take out 70% of the fat in the meal, it also makes me feel fuller so I eat less at dinner.  I wont take any pills that speed up my metabolism, or have caffeine in it.  I will speed up my metabolism the natural way by exercising. I’m once again trying to become healthy!  School starts next week and I will be very busy.  I think that this will help me loose weight because I wont be at home all day sitting around trying NOT to eat.  I actually started two days ago and I did great, but today We went out to purchase school books on an empty stomach!  I know better than that!  Any way, we had lunch at the golden coral which was super good, but we wont be going there very often.  Then around 8 pm I broke into the Nutella and pigged out! Ouch!  Today was NOT a good day.  My starting weight it 212 pounds, this is a lot lower than the 235 that I was, but I lost that weight several months ago when I started taking Herbalife.  Now I’m back on Herbalife and am hoping for more of that success and loose the next 25 pounds!  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;January, 13, 2009  GOOD DAY    212 pounds&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt; The days not quite over because I have enrichment tonight at church and I know that they will be serving some kind of food there.  So far today has been great.  I had both of my shakes and played Tennis with Doug.  I had an early dinner and ate a subway sandwich. I had a hard time sleeping last night because my rump was sore from playing tennis yesterday!  Tomorrow I will have to exercise some other part of my body.   I will let you know how strong I was at enrichment,  I feel like  I wont cheat.  I just found out that my best friend Kelly is having the gastric bypass surgery done on January 26th.  I hope everything will work out for her and I am even more motivated now to do this on my own.  Kelly has great clothes, but I DON’T want her big clothes when she cant fit into them anymore!  I’ll take her big clothes when she is to small for a size 12, they’ll be just right for me when I get down to 150 pounds (That’s my goal weight) &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;January 14, 2009  GOOD DAY   212 Pounds&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Today was a good day!  I had my shakes my snacks and a good dinner.  We had a Skillet dinner with potatoes, turkey sausage, and eggs.  I left out some of the egg yolks and then sprinkled a little bit of cheese on the finished product. I was at a staggering 235 pounds!  Ouch!  I was miserable!  I had no energy, I was taking naps every day and I just felt Huge!  I was in a 20 pant size and they were kind of tight, and was wearing a 22 in tops.  My husband is so nice about my weight.  He's always telling me that I look gorgeous and Sexy!  I'm like yea right, but I guess if he's not complaining I might as well keep on eating!  Around this time my parents got turned on to a company called "Herbalife" They decided to sell the product and let me buy it at cost.  (It's kind of pricey) I started taking a lot of the herbal pills, a daily vitamin pill and cell activator and a fiber pill and a few others.  I also had one of there shakes twice a day, and then didn’t worry about dinner and ate what we normally do.  I also would have two snacks a day.  I did really well for like a month and a half and lost 25 pounds!  I was totally happy, but then fell of the wagon, and had a lot of things going on at home and moving to Tulare, then to Elk Grove, and then the holiday season, so I weighed myself 3 days ago and am 213 pounds.  I was pretty happy that after all that time I only gained 3 pounds!  So now I am off again! I don't ever remember feeling small.  when I look back at pictures from my childhood I realized that I wasn't fat, I was just a bigger kid, I wasn't ever "Petite".  For many years growing up I struggled with self esteem issues concerning my weight.  Now that I’m a grown woman I know that I’m a pretty cool person and I  actually really like myself!  On the down side, now I  am FAT!  Isn’t that the way it goes though?  I've decided to start this blog in the hopes that I can inspire myself and others to start living a more healthy life!  I will be focusing primarily on the physical aspects of a healthy lifestyle, but will also throw in my thoughts on being healthy emotionally; including relationships with family, friends, and spouses.  If anyone has any thoughts, or articles please e-mail them to me at lindseyjepson@live.com so I can share them with everyone!  I am planning on journaling everyday about my progress, or pitfalls, but please bare with me if I’m not totally on top of it. I will be starting 17 units of college classes, and still trying to be a mom and a wife!
